What Happens After the Final IPMAT Selection?
After the final IPMAT selection, shortlisted candidates receive formal admission offers from institutes such as IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak and must complete a series of steps, including offer acceptance, fee payment, and campus reporting to secure their seat in the IPM programme.
The following sub-sections explain each of these post-selection stages in order:
Provisional Offer Letter
After the final IPMAT selection, candidates shortlisted by IIM Rohtak receive a provisional offer letter on their registered email ID. This communication is sent from the official admission email (ipmadmission@iimrohtak.ac.in) shortly after the merit list is declared. The offer letter contains important details about admission, fee structure, and deadlines, so candidates must read it carefully.

Accept the Admission Offer
Candidates who wish to accept the offer must confirm their admission within the stipulated deadline mentioned in the offer letter.
Pay Offer Acceptance Amount (OAA)
As part of the acceptance process, they are required to pay an Offer Acceptance Amount (OAA) of ₹1,00,000 (or as specified in the letter) through the institute’s official admission portal. Once the payment is completed, an automated receipt is generated, and the associated bank also sends a confirmation message via email or SMS to the candidate’s registered contact details.
Receive Admission Confirmation Letter
After the acceptance of the offer and payment of the OAA, candidates receive a confirmation letter for provisional admission to the IPM Batch (Session 2026–31). The amount paid as OAA is later adjusted against the first-year programme fee.
Pay First-Year Fee
Following this, candidates must pay the first instalment of the first-year fee within the deadline mentioned in the confirmation letter. Failure to make this payment on time will lead to the cancellation of the allotted seat.
Report to Campus / Registration
Finally, candidates who have completed all payment formalities are required to report to the institute campus on the specified date and time for registration. This is followed by document verification, where candidates must present their educational certificates and other required documents as per the checklist. In case the IPMAT registration process is conducted online, document verification may be carried out virtually.

FAQs on IPMAT Selection Process
The process starts with the IPMAT written exam. Based on scores, candidates are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI), and in some cases, a Written Ability Test (WAT). Final selection is done using a combined score of all stages.
The main institutes are the Indian Institute of Management Indore and the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak. Both have their own selection criteria and weightage for different stages.
IIM Indore uses an ATS (Aptitude Test Score) based on IPMAT performance. This score is calculated section-wise and determines who gets shortlisted for the PI round.
IIM Rohtak shortlists candidates mainly based on their IPMAT score. It also considers academic consistency, especially Class 10 and 12 marks, before calling students for PI and WAT.
The PI evaluates how clearly you express your thoughts, your understanding of basic concepts, your awareness of current topics, and your confidence while answering questions.
At IIM Rohtak, around 85% weightage is given to the test and 15% to the PI. At IIM Indore, both IPMAT score and PI performance are combined to calculate a final composite score.
Yes, some institutes like IIM Rohtak may include a Written Ability Test (WAT) along with the PI to assess writing and thinking ability.
The ATS score decides whether you will be shortlisted for the PI. A higher ATS means a better chance of moving to the next stage.
They are important in some institutes like IIM Rohtak, where academic consistency is considered during shortlisting and final selection.
You should aim for a strong IPMAT score to clear cutoffs and then prepare well for the PI. Balanced performance in both stages is necessary to secure final admission.
